SUMMARY:Remembered: the Life of Lucy Higgs Nichols
DESCRIPTION:The Floyd County Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center is proud to announce our next exhibition\, REDEMPTION featuring the works of artist Jaylin Monet’ Stewart. Jaylin is a nationally acclaimed visual artist\, founder\, and cultural storyteller whose work spans over 30 murals across the United States. Born and raised in West Louisville\, Kentucky\, Stewart is a self-taught artist whose practice explores identity\, transformation\, and healing through emotionally driven\, narrative-rich work. Speaking on her work\, she says “REDEMPTION is my first solo exhibition—an immersive body of work that reflects the public spaces I have grown up in and fellowshipped within. I’ve taken these environments—ones not often seen inside of institutions or what some call “white-walled” spaces—and brought them into the gallery. This work is my childhood\, my life\, and the woman I am becoming.” REDEMPTION will have an opening reception on Friday\, May 22\, 2026 from 5-8 PM\, and this exhibition will be on display through October 17\, 2026.
