Willow Stick Drawing Workshop
April 29
4:30 pm
-
6:00 pm
Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center Museum Educator, Al Gorman, has an extensive background in drawing and likes to use ‘primitive’ tools to make his art. He collects straight beaver-chewed willow sticks from the Falls of the Ohio State Park to use for craft projects and drawing. (Beavers use the green outer bark as food leaving clean willow wood behind).
A simple stick dipped in ink can make a large variety of expressive marks. If you like drawing and looking to loosen up by making your drawings more gestural…this exercise is for you! This is a no experience needed class. Participants will be given the opportunity to draw large in this class. All supplies will be provided.
