History comes alive in this powerful, interactive theatrical experience by Kentucky Shakespeare! This free family event is for all ages.

Step into the past and discover how the events that shaped our nation continue to influence our lives today. In Living History: We the People, professional actors bring pivotal moments in American history to life using primary source historical documents, engaging performances, and thought-provoking storytelling.

From the American Revolution and the fight to end slavery to the Civil Rights Movement and today’s conversations about social media and First Amendment rights, explore the people, struggles, and ideas that have shaped our nation. Along the way, discover what it means to be a citizen, understand the rights and responsibilities we share, and consider how each of us can make a difference in our own communities.

History isn’t just about the past—it’s about the choices we make today and the future we create together! Join us for a memorable experience that will inspire curiosity, spark conversation, and bring American history to life in a whole new way. This is also a great way to celebrate America’s 250 years!

The 2026 tour of Living History: We the People is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
